On Monday, People’s Daily, China’s leading newspaper, stated it was time for Beijing to consider using its “financial weapon” against the United States.
The Communist Party’s flagship publication suggested that the Chinese government “directly link” its purchases of US Treasury debt to Taiwan arms sales and “require” ratings agencies to downgrade the United States in order to force up interest paid to China. China should also “launch limited trade sanctions” against states whose representatives in Congress support Taiwan. “China-US relations will always be constrained by these people and will continue along a roller coaster pattern if China does not beat them until they feel the pain,” the paper said.
The context for the stinging piece in the party’s self-described mouthpiece may be proposed arms sales to Taiwan, but the general message is clear: China should use its holdings of American obligations to accomplish its many geopolitical aims. “In fact, China has never wanted to use its holdings of US debt as a weapon,” the paper noted. “It is the United States that is forcing it to do so.”
The People’s Daily piece is just the latest of Beijing’s blistering attacks in the last ten days on the debt issue. The official Xinhua News Agency, for instance, issued two recent attacks on the United States. The more important of the two, on Saturday, called for international supervision over Washington’s printing of dollars and suggested consideration of a new international reserve currency to replace the greenback “to avert a catastrophe caused by any single country.”
The first of Xinhua’s suggestions is ludicrous and will never be implemented. The second suggestion reflects Beijing’s fond hopes of dethroning the dollar. Unfortunately for China, America’s money will remain the world’s reserve currency for the foreseeable future simply because there is no alternative to it.
Chinese officials are obviously in huff-and-puff mode, but their tirades reveal they are out to undermine the United States. For all the effort that Washington has put into integrating China into the international community over the last three decades, Beijing refuses to be drawn in.
Chinese officials, in recent days, have essentially declared an economic war on the United States. Perhaps it is time for us to think of China as a geopolitical adversary and not just a friendly trading partner. Beijing, by its own words, has revealed itself to be a foe. The question is whether we will recognize its hostile intent and respond.

Prepare Your Hearts for What I Am About to Do

I was driving across a bridge over a small area of a nearby lake and was really concerned about how fast the water was evaporating. It looks more like an oversized mud puddle than a lake now, with trees sticking up everywhere. I began to pray. "Lord, the water is drying up! The animals will die if they can't find water!" and the Lord began to speak to me about what I was seeing.
Get used to seeing death and destruction all around you, child, for My judgments are falling on this nation and many of them will seem harsh but I am a righteous judge. This nation has not begun to see what I have in store for those who turn their backs on My son, My word, and My ways. Its judgment will be horrific indeed, yet I will save many for I am as great in mercy as I am in judgment.
Prepare your hearts, My children, for what I am about to do. You will not like what you see yet it is necessary that I judge the sin and rebellion I have found in your nations.
For I shall reward to each nation, each household and each person according to what I find. I am not slack concerning My judgments and you have had much time to repent.
Watch for Me and pray you will be counted worthy for I am coming soon.
Prov. 13:13: Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
Hosea 4:9: And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.

It Will Be a Time as None Before It

I was working on writing and the heaviness and dread I've been feeling for weeks now about the economy rose up in my spirit once again. I have learned when I have repeated bouts of something like this, it is an indication something is about to happen that the Lord wants to let us know about, so I went aside to my prayer place to seek Him about it.
Times are indeed about to become more than difficult for many people.
(I heard a deep, deep sadness in the Lord's voice as He spoke this to me, and I felt that He has tried to prepare many who would not listen and obey in what they needed to do before this time.)
You will hear of many suicides in the future - suicides of ones who could not part with their wealthy lifestyles. It will be a time as none before it.
The devastation will be great but many shall turn their hearts to Me in this time and come to know Me and I shall help them.
Tell My children to keep their eyes on Me and follow where I guide them and they shall be provided for in this time. Decrease needs now and learn to live more simply and you shall have less distress when you see this happening, My children.
The world's system must come crashing down if My people are to truly return to Me while there is yet time.
I have much to show the world in this time. I have much to teach you also, My children, about My ways, about My provision.
Come to Me now. Seek My face and know Me as your provider.

Ron Paul 'They're Setting The Stage For Violence In This Country'
Presidential candidate responds to question about detention camps for civil unrest.
In a response to a question asked by Infowars correspondent Robert Wanek at Iowa State University during the recent Ames straw poll, Ron Paul said that the federal government was preparing for civil unrest and martial law in the United States.
Paul was asked for his opinion on whether H.R. 645 (The National Emergency Centers Establishment Act) could lead to Americans being incarcerated in detention camps during a time of martial law.
“Yeah, that’s their goal, they’re setting up the stage for violence in this country, no doubt about it,” responded Paul.
The National Emergency Centers Act or HR 645, first introduced in January 2009, mandates the establishment of “national emergency centers” to be located on military installations for the purpose of providing “temporary housing, medical, and humanitarian assistance to individuals and families dislocated due to an emergency or major disaster,” according to the bill.
The legislation also states that the camps will be used to “provide centralized locations to improve the coordination of preparedness, response, and recovery efforts of government, private, and not-for-profit entities and faith-based organizations”.
Ominously, the bill also states that the camps can be used to “meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security,” an open ended mandate which many fear could mean the forced detention of American citizens in the event of widespread rioting after a national emergency or total economic collapse.
The legislation was referred to Committee and did not proceed any further, but it was not rejected in a vote and can be re-introduced at any time in a new session of Congress.
As we reported yesterday, in the aftermath of the UK riots, police departments in the United States are being trained to deal with rioting and civil unrest.
Back in 2008, U.S. troops returning from Iraq were earmarked for “homeland patrols” with one of their roles including helping with “civil unrest and crowd control”.
In December 2008, the Washington Post reported on plans to station 20,000 more U.S. troops inside America for purposes of “domestic security” from September 2011 onwards, an expansion of Northcom’s militarization of the country in preparation for potential civil unrest following a total economic collapse or a mass terror attack.
The United States has continuity of government plans in place should martial law be declared by the President. However, the details of those plans have been so tightly guarded that even Congressman and Homeland Security Committee member Peter DeFazio (D – OR), who has the necessary security clearance, was denied access to view the material when he requested to do so back in July 2007.
“I just can’t believe they’re going to deny a member of Congress the right of reviewing how they plan to conduct the government of the United States after a significant terrorist attack,” DeFazio told the Oregonian at the time, adding, “Maybe the people who think there’s a conspiracy out there are right.”
Congressman Paul has warned about preparations for martial law before, telling the Alex Jones Show, “They’re putting their back up against the wall and saying, if need be we’re going to have martial law.”
